Scientists unlocking the Antikythera Mechanism

The Antikythera Mechanism, an ancient device found in a shipwreck in Greek waters was more complicated than any instrument for the next 1,000 years according to scientists this past week. Discovered in 1901, the mechanism is made up of 82 brass pieces, including an early gear system, and could be used to track the movement of numerous heavenly bodies as well as predicting events like eclipses.
